Former Ugandan Couple Celebrate Their Divorce After 6 Years Of Separation (Photos)

A former married couple from Uganda have celebrated their divorce after six years of separation and two children, IgbereTV reports.

Immaculate Nantongo and her ex-husband took their divorce celebration at a restaurant together. They also had a 'happily divorced' cake.

The mother and entrepreneur shared the news via her Facebook page on Wednesday, August 25 after the divorce was finalized.

She wrote:

"So finally my divorce is final yeeeeeeey after 6yrs of separation. Today I choose to celebrate an end of something that resulted into two handsome boys. I celebrate the friendship ,the co parenting and the maturity. 7yrs ago I didn't know we would be at this place sitting together and sharing a meal .how time heals everything... Deciding to let go of the hurt, betrayal and choosing to forgive wasn't a simple thing but I did and we are in the best place we could ever be

Am not here to glamorize divorce but to tell anyone in a similar situation, divorce is not the end of life. You can still be civil with your ex. Life can still be beautiful but also to let you know that God is not mad at you. Yes he hates divorce but he loves you so much.

No parent would want their child to endure or be killed in a relationship just for the sake of it. If we earthly parents want the best for our kids how about God our father?

God hates divorce for what it does to people, it breaks up families but in the midst of your divorce you can choose to make the most out of your situation. Co parent better. It's all about giving your kids the best opportunities in life. Making the best decisions for them.

So for one last time, we came together to celebrate the life we had and the individual lives we live.

Inem Peter: I Am Ready To Get Married

Nollywood actress, Inem Peter has put out an announcement that she is ready to settle down and eligible bachelors should approach her.

In a post she shared on her Instagram page, the actress set her pride aside to reveal that she is ready to be a respectful and dutiful wife to her husband.

According to her, she woke up this morning craving a husband and is willing to do anything for him. She further added that she is willing to lose weight if he doesn’t like her present weight, as long as he gets married to her.

The movie star wrote,

Mother Of 3 Bags 10 years Jail For Child Trafficking

An Akwa Ibom State High Court has sentenced a 47-year-old woman, Gertrude Thompson Akpan to 10 years in prison for child trafficking without an option of fine.

The convict was said to have bought a 6-year-old boy in Uyo and transferred him to Owerri in Imo State where she sold the victim to one Kate Ojukwu Ogbonna, a native of Bende in Abia State at the sum of N200,000.

Mrs Akpan, a mother of three children from Ikot Eyo in Nsit Ibom Local Government Area of Akwa Ibom State claimed to be a staff of Immanuel Hospital, Eket, where she said she retired as a Matron in 2015.

She also confessed that she has been in the business of selling and buying children since 2008.

Delivering his judgement, Justice Okon Okon said “apart from the confession of the convict, the evidence of the Prosecution Witness that she assisted the Police in the recovery of the child victim from the buyer in Owerri, remained unchallenged and therefore accepted.”

The Court further held that the evidence of the prosecution is that one Ubong Charles Ekwere had on 12th May 2018, abducted the six-year-old boy in the lawful custody of his grandmother and sold him to the convict, Gertrude Thompson Akpan at the sum of N50,000 and Gertrude in turn, sold the victim to Kate Ojukwu Ogbonna in Owerri at the sum of N200,000. Justice Okon found Gertrude Thompson Akpan guilty of unlawful removal and transfer of the child victim from Akwa Ibom State to Owerri, Imo State.

He said “it is sadistic that Gertrude, a mother of children, indulged in selling the children of others, thereby depriving the innocent children of the natural love, care and upbringing by their parents.

“Such evil trade must be deprecated, forestalled and checkmated by every right-thinking member of the society. Buying and selling of children is against social and moral values of the people of Akwa Ibom State.”

Phone Snatcher Arrested In Kano

The Kano State Police Command has arrested a 19-year-old phone snatcher, Adamu Sadi, in Rijiyar Lemo Quarters, Ungogo Local Government Area.

Police spokesman, DSP Abdullahi Haruna Kiyawa confirmed the incident to DAILY POST.

He said the suspect, who has been on the police wanted list, has been terrorising people at Rijiyar Lemo, Bachirawa and Kurna area.

Kiyawa explained that one Muhammad reported to police that on July 9, 2021, a criminal attacked him while on a tricycle to a market, injured him and snatched his phone, a Gionee M11.

He said after police received the report, the state Commissioner of Police ordered the Rijiyar Lemo Division to swing into action to arrest the criminal.

Kiyawa said on August 23, 2021, police succeeded in arresting the hoodlum after they had been trailing him for days.

Speaking to DAILY POST, the suspect revealed that he has been terrorising people in the area for over a year and had snatched no less than 15 phones. Morning Prayers

Police spokesman said the case was transferred to the CID for further investigation.

He said the suspect will be charged to court after the investigation.

Phone-snatching has become a serious security issue affecting Kano metropolis and environs causing death and injury to many people.

There are reports that Nollywood actor Alexx Ekubo and his fiance Fancy Acholonu have called off their engagement.

Ekubo proposed to Acholonu in May 2021.

There are reports that she called off the engagement and deleted their joint Instagram page, FalexxForever.

Acholonu has unfollowed the movie star on Instagram even though he still follows her.

However, Ekubo still has photos and videos from their proposal and engagement ceremony on his Instagram page.

While Acholonu has deleted every photo she has with the movie star on her Instagram page.

The couple got engaged in Los Angeles, United States of America.

They were billed to walk down the aisle in November.

Final Year Student Of MOUAU With First Class Died

first-class final-year student of the Michael Okpara University of Agriculture, Blessing Kalu, has been killed by a truck in Umudike Oboro in the Ikwuano Local Government Area of Abia State.

The victim who is an indigene of Nkporo, in the Bende LGA of Abia State, had boarded a motorcycle to a gas station to fill her cylinder up with cooking gas, and was on her way home when the accident happened.

According to eyewitnesses, the driver of the motorcycle Kalu boarded was on the verge of overtaking the truck when the accident happened. She was knocked down and thereafter started breathing heavily. She was rushed to the hospital where she was pronounced dead.

Kalu who bagged a first-class in Entrepreneurial Studies student, finished her final examination last Friday. She went to church on Sunday, August 22 for thanksgiving and sadly, lost her life on Monday, August 23. Her body has since been deposited in the morgue.

May her soul rest in peace, Amen.
